Segway & Electric Mobility

Explore Segway scooters and recreational mobility with Canadian model selection, practical setup and clear permitted-use guidance.

Choose the ride. Check where it belongs. We help you compare Segway equipment around the rider, the route, storage, charging and support—not just the biggest speed or range number.

Available for sale does not mean legal everywhere. Roads, sidewalks, bicycle paths, parks and private properties have different rules. The exact Canadian model and your intended riding location must be checked before purchase. This page is general information, not a legal opinion or certification of any pictured model.

Scooters for different riding needs

Ask us about the E3, F3, F2 Pro, E2 Pro, MAX G2, MAX G3 and ZT3 Pro families. We compare the actual model’s weight, portability, rider limits, tyres, charging requirements and intended use. The ZT3 Pro is pictured; the photograph does not indicate road or trail approval.

Performance and recreation

The GT3 and GT3 Pro belong in a separate suitability conversation. Do not assume a powerful model meets a province’s scooter definition, or that selecting a slower app mode makes it compliant. We will not describe these as universally street-legal products.

Ninebot and recreational systems

Ninebot S2, Gokart Pro 2, Gokart and Mecha accessories require their own compatibility and permitted-use checks. Youth equipment such as C2 Lite must also be matched to the manufacturer’s rider guidance and a lawful riding location. A youth product is not permission for a child to ride on a public road.

The complete setup

Include a correctly fitted helmet, suitable protective equipment, a compatible charger, secure storage and the accessories that fit your exact model. We can help with initial setup, account pairing, operating guidance and a support plan. Model availability, accessories, warranty terms and pricing are confirmed in your written quote.

Canadian riding rules: start with the vehicle class

A pedal-assist bicycle, a standing scooter, a self-balancing device, a motorcycle and an ATV are not interchangeable legal categories. Federal import treatment is also separate from provincial road-use permission. Transport Canada explains that a vehicle’s original design and capabilities matter; a retailer’s label or a rider’s intended use does not settle its classification. Read Transport Canada’s vehicle guidance.

Manitoba: do not mistake an amendment for an in-force rule

The personal-electric-vehicle changes in S.M. 2026, c. 36 received assent, but Part 1 is listed as not yet proclaimed in the Highway Traffic Act history reviewed for this page. Do not treat the proposed scooter framework as current permission to ride on Manitoba roads. Confirm the applicable rules with the province and the municipality before choosing a public-use model. Check the current Act and proclamation status.

For qualifying power-assisted bicycles, Manitoba’s existing rules include a minimum operator age of 14 and a properly fitted, fastened helmet on highways and bicycle facilities. The legal definition requires operable pedals and other conditions; the commonly quoted 500 W and 32 km/h limits are not the whole test. Manitoba Parks also says e-scooters are not permitted on provincial-park trails or beaches, while qualifying e-bikes may use designated bicycle routes subject to restrictions. Read Manitoba Parks’ e-bike and trail guidance.

Ontario and British Columbia: local participation matters

Ontario: the provincial e-scooter pilot requires a participating municipality and its local rules. The provincial criteria include a 500 W maximum motor, 24 km/h maximum speed and a minimum rider age of 16. Riders under 18 must wear a helmet; the pilot does not permit seats, passengers or cargo. These are selected requirements, not a complete compliance test. Check Ontario’s full requirements.

British Columbia: public-road use is permitted in participating communities under the pilot rules; limited use also exists on certain cycle-lane highways outside municipal boundaries. Riders must be at least 16. Check the current equipment, helmet, speed and local-route requirements rather than assuming permission extends to every municipality. Check B.C.’s current rules.

E-bikes, electric quads and other electric vehicles

Electric propulsion does not make an ATV a bicycle or remove registration, insurance, helmet, age or land-access obligations. Manitoba’s Off-Road Vehicles Act regulates registration and insurance, safety equipment and operation, with specific exceptions. Road crossings and permitted routes require separate checks. We do not advertise Segway ATVs or e-bikes as confirmed stock on the basis of a scooter catalogue. Read Manitoba’s Off-Road Vehicles Act.

Tell us how—and where—you plan to ride

Send the rider’s age range, municipality, intended routes or private-property setting, approximate rider and cargo weight, storage space and charging location. We will identify the questions that need answering before recommending a model. For another province or territory, its current rules and the local authority’s restrictions must be checked individually.

Legal-source review: October 5, 2026. The Manitoba consolidation consulted states that it is current to October 2, 2026. Rules, proclamations and municipal participation can change. Recheck the linked government sources before purchase or use. Product photographs are manufacturer images, not photographs of InterFusion installations.
