Plan the screen, mount and wall together
We review seating, viewing height, daylight, furniture and access to connected devices. A fixed, tilting or full-motion bracket must suit the television, mounting surface and intended use.
- TV model, weight, mounting-hole pattern and manufacturer instructions
- Wall construction, finish, fixing points and access
- Existing brackets, cable slack and space for connected equipment
Fireplace positions need a separate assessment of heat exposure, viewing height and clearances. Wall types and customer-supplied mounts are assessed before acceptance; another location may be more suitable.
Make room for cables, sound and everyday control
We plan cable management around your streaming device, television receiver, game console, soundbar or AV receiver. Concealed pathways depend on the wall and access available. Any new outlet, electrical work, patching or painting must be identified separately in the agreed scope.
Setup can include supported device connections, network connection, source selection and everyday controls. You keep control of your accounts and passwords; subscriptions and internet service are separate.
The mount, the connections and a clean finish.
We can supply and install the TV mount, compatible cabling and accessories for your complete setup. For hidden wiring, we assess surface-mounted raceway or a suitable in-wall route for the location. Product availability, access, electrical work and wall finishing are confirmed in the quote.

Already installed, but not working properly?
No sound, missing picture, unreliable streaming and remote-control problems can have different causes. Tell us which devices are affected, whether every source has the problem and what changed before it began.
We confirm an appropriate first step and any paid assessment before proceeding. Troubleshooting does not guarantee that faulty equipment can be repaired.
TV & display help
Start with the symptom. Find a safer next step.
No picture, missing sound or a stubborn HDMI connection? Work through the checks below, then find guidance for your exact brand and model. This guide covers home TVs, outdoor TVs and selected commercial displays.
What is your TV doing?
Before changing settings, note the model number, selected input and any error message. Change one thing at a time so you can tell what helped.
No power or no response
- Look for a standby light or on-screen response. A dark screen alone does not prove the TV has no power.
- If safely accessible, check that the power plug is seated and an ordinary switched power bar is on. Do not handle damaged plugs or wet outlets.
- Try the TV’s own power button if you can reach it without moving the screen. If that works, follow the remote-control checks below.
- Use the restart procedure in your exact model’s manual. If it calls for unplugging, use only a safely accessible plug and follow the specified wait time. A restart is different from a factory reset.
Still unresponsive? Record the indicator colour and any repeating blink pattern. Give that information to the manufacturer or a qualified service provider; it is not enough on its own to identify a failed part.
Sound works, but the screen is black
- Press Home, Menu or Settings. If a menu appears, test a different app, channel or input to see whether the problem is limited to one source.
- For an external player or cable box, confirm it is awake and that the TV is on the matching input.
- With equipment switched off, reseat only easily accessible video connections. Try a known-working cable or another available input without moving the TV.
- If your model includes a built-in picture test, run it using the manual. If no menu or test image appears, stop the cable checks and contact support.
Audio with no picture can have several causes. Do not assume that a backlight, panel or circuit board needs replacement.
The picture is dim, uneven or has lines
- Compare the TV’s menu with more than one programme or input. A problem on only one source calls for different checks than a problem visible everywhere.
- Review normal picture-mode, brightness and energy-saving settings in your manual. Write down existing values before changing them; HDR and SDR content can use different settings.
- If available, run the manufacturer’s picture test. Persistent lines, dark areas or colour problems in the menu or test image need further assessment.
Do not press on the panel, enter a service menu or disable panel-protection features. OLED and LCD/LED TVs work differently; a generic “backlight fix” is not suitable for every screen.
“No signal,” HDMI dropouts or a missing device
- Match the selected input to the actual socket, such as HDMI 1 or HDMI 2. Make sure the connected device is powered on and awake.
- Switch equipment off before reseating an accessible cable. Test another cable or source if you have one.
- If a receiver, switch or extender is in the path, a temporary direct connection can help narrow the problem, but only when all connections are accessible without moving equipment or disturbing installed wiring.
- Check the source device’s output against the TV port’s supported resolution and refresh rate. Higher-resolution, HDR and high-refresh modes may require particular ports, settings and cables.
If one source works and another does not, record that result. It helps separate a source or connection issue from a display-wide symptom.
Picture works, but there is no sound
- Check mute and volume on both the TV and the connected device. Confirm the intended audio output: TV speakers, soundbar, receiver or headphones.
- If your TV has built-in speakers, temporarily select them to test whether the problem is limited to external audio.
- For HDMI ARC/eARC audio, verify that both ends use the labelled compatible ports and that the soundbar or receiver is on the correct input.
- Follow both devices’ manuals for ARC/eARC and HDMI-control settings. Supported formats differ; avoid changing multiple audio settings at once.
If only one app or device is silent, investigate that source first. If all sources are affected, use a built-in sound test where supported.
The remote is not working
- Replace disposable batteries or charge a rechargeable remote as its manual specifies. Check battery orientation.
- Remove objects blocking the TV’s remote sensor. Aim at the correct device and move closer.
- Try a safely reachable TV button to distinguish a remote issue from an unresponsive television.
- For Bluetooth or smart remotes, use the exact model’s pairing instructions. Universal-remote codes and pairing button combinations are not interchangeable.
In a managed commercial installation, remote or button locks may be intentional. Ask the system administrator before changing them.
Wi-Fi, streaming or an app is not working
- Check whether another device can use the same network and whether a different TV app works. This helps distinguish a network-wide problem from an app-specific one.
- Check the TV’s network status and reconnect to the intended network using your model’s instructions. Do not share your Wi-Fi password in a service enquiry.
- Restart the app or TV. Restart a home router only when you can safely interrupt everyone using it; leave business-network equipment to the administrator.
- Check official app and TV updates for the exact model and region. Keep power connected during an update and follow the manufacturer’s directions.
Older TVs may lose support for individual apps. A factory reset will not restore a discontinued service. Check the app provider’s compatibility information before resetting anything.
A commercial display turns off, changes input or misses its schedule
- Confirm the full model number and whether the screen uses an external signage player, a built-in player or a managed control system.
- Ask the authorised administrator to review date, time, time zone, power schedules, sleep settings and scheduled input selection.
- Check whether the player is awake and whether the intended content is assigned and published. Record when the fault happens.
- Have the administrator check remote-management commands and input rules before changing settings at the display.
Do not clear schedules, bypass locks or factory-reset a managed screen as a first step. That can remove network, signage or control-system configuration. Features and permitted operating hours are model-specific.
An outdoor TV is hard to see or behaves differently in the weather
- Confirm the model is rated for its installed environment and sunlight exposure. An indoor TV under a roof is not automatically suitable outdoors.
- Compare ambient conditions with the operating limits in the model manual. Note whether the symptom follows direct sun, extreme heat or cold, rain or condensation.
- From a safe position, check for blocked ventilation, visible cable damage or an obviously loose enclosure cover. Do not open a sealed compartment in wet conditions or attempt an internal repair.
- Stop using the equipment if you suspect water intrusion or an electrical fault. Have a qualified professional assess power protection, installation and weather sealing.
Do not apply heat, pressure-wash the screen or defeat weather seals. Outdoor ratings, speaker arrangements and temperature limits vary by series.
Find guidance for your brand
Start with the complete model number, including its suffix. Find it in the TV’s information menu, receipt or an existing photo of the label. Do not move a mounted TV just to read the back. Menu names and features vary by model, year and region.
Samsung TVs
If your model offers Self Diagnosis, use its picture or sound test to compare the TV’s own test output with the problem source. On models with a One Connect box, include that external box and its connection in your description to support; do not assume every Samsung uses one.
Use Samsung Canada’s model search for the correct manual and support route. A guide for a different series may use different ports or menus.
LG TVs
For a dim picture, review the model’s picture mode and Energy Saving settings. For a picture problem on every source, look for Picture Test or Screen Self-Diagnosis where supported. The menu location varies with webOS version.
OLED picture-care features are model-specific. Follow LG’s instructions rather than repeatedly running maintenance routines or using LCD repair advice.
Philips home TVs
Use the full model suffix and the Canadian support route. Philips television menus and software platforms differ; instructions for one country or platform may not fit another.
For certain listed Philips 4K models, incorrect HDMI format settings can cause sound without a picture. Check the article’s supported-model list and your manual before changing that setting.

Sony BRAVIA TVs
For no picture or a repeating indicator light, record the colour and blink pattern. Sony’s restart steps distinguish Google TV/Android TV from other models; use the instructions that match yours.
If the menu displays correctly but one connected source does not, investigate that input and device. If the problem appears in the menu too, follow Sony’s display-wide troubleshooting path.

SunBrite outdoor TVs
Confirm the series before troubleshooting. Veranda models are designed for full-shade locations; other series have different exposure ratings. Verify your exact model’s sunlight and temperature limits rather than treating all outdoor TVs alike.
Use the correct manual for remote pairing, inputs, sound and any diagnostic feature. Do not apply a reset sequence from another SunBrite generation or disturb weather seals to reach a connection.

ViewSonic commercial and other displays
Identify whether you have a commercial signage display, ViewBoard, monitor or another product. Their inputs, speakers, controls and software differ.
For a commercial screen, check the selected source and source-device power first. If a problem happens at a consistent time, have the administrator review the supported scheduling and control settings in the exact model manual. Avoid resetting a managed installation.

Still stuck? Make the next step easier.
Request TV troubleshooting from InterFusion MEDIA for setup, connection or mounting assistance. Include your brand and model, screen size, symptom, connected equipment and the checks you have already tried. Mention whether the TV is wall-mounted, outdoors or part of a commercial system.
A photo of the visible symptom or an accessible connection can help. Keep passwords, account details and private content out of photos. Do not move the screen to take one.
For suspected internal failure or warranty service, start with the manufacturer’s support link above. Manufacturer-authorised repair and warranty eligibility must be confirmed with that manufacturer. If access requires moving a large TV, arrange professional handling.
